* Prerequisites: Obedience or Placement Exam
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
The purpose of these hours is to understand the hazards of training
a protection dog. At the conclusion the student will learn the proper deployment
of:
1. How to handle and control an aggressive protection dog.
2. Learn to read his/her dogs and other people's dogs by the aggressive indications that the dog gives.
3. Applying safety precautions at all times.
THEORY OF PROTECTION
At the conclusion of these hours the student must show proficiency
in:
1. Recognizing the training abilities of a clients dog.
2. Identify a dog's mental and emotional status.
3. Understanding the natural instincts of a dog's aggression.
PERSONAL PROTECTION TRAINING
Upon conclusion of these hours the student must show proficiency
in:
1. Perform all training principles and theories in the overall training
objective of personal protection.
2. Knowing the performance capabilities of a properly trained protection dog.
3. Bringing out the aggressive drive in a dog.
4. Use his/her knowledge to advance the dog's protective instincts.
5. Reading, recognizing and reacting to the dog's body indications.
6. Properly demonstrating the principles of professional training.
7. Perform as a professional dog agitator.
8. Use all protection training equipment in a professional and correct manner.
9. Instruct other people to be handlers and agitators.
10. Construct training situations.
BUSINESS "AREA GUARD" TRAINING
Upon conclusion the student will be familiar with:
1. Theory of the area guard dog.
2. The different training involved in business guard training.
3. Advising business owners of securing the property.
