Sue Burkeen's Hobbie Page
Sue has many porcelain dolls as well as some stuffed dolls. Many of the
dolls are handmade, including two she has made herself. Sue began collecting bears about 3
years ago and now has approximately 30 bears (The count is estimated since new bears pop up
all the time!).
Sue has been crosstitching for many years. Our home displays many
examples of her talent.
She also knits and crochets.
Collecting Quilts
Sue has been collecting quilts for many years, our most precious quilt
was made by my mother (Rebecca Jo "Waldrop" Burkeen). This quilt is one of four that my mother
made and gave to each of her sons for Christmas in 1991. Sue has collected 12 quilts of
varying designs, several of which are displayed on quilt racks in our home.
Collecting Cow's
What can I say? Sue is crazy about cows! Sue has been collecting cows for many years,
her collection includes an impressive number of cow creamers. This collection is primarily
displayed in our kitchen and also includes "Mary Moos" figurines, stuffed cows,
cow pictures and a variety of other items decorated with a holstein pattern.
