22 March 1842 - David C. Burken (noted as D.C. Burkeen in deed title) entered into deed of mortgage with Richard Nuckolls:

 

Know all men by these presents that I have this day bargained sold and delivered to Richard Nuckolls one brown horse one bay horse and one bay mare one red cow with a white face, and two brindle cows, Fifteen head of young hogs, All my plows gears and farming utensils, and all my house hold and kitchen furniture including two beds knives & plates cups sauces [sic] &c&c. for and in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and fifty dollars the receipt whereof I hereby acknowledge.  The condition of the above obligation

is such that whereas I am indebted to the said Richard Nuckolls the following notes bearing date the 15th of July 1841 - one for fifty dollars payable on or before the 25th December 1841 - one for sixty six dollars and 66  cts due the 25th Dec 1842 - one for sixty six dollars & 66  cts due 25th Dec 1843 and one for sixty six dollars & 66  cents due 25th day of Dec 1844 now if I shall well and truly pay off said notes then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue in law.  Given under my hand this 22nd day of march 1842.
